6 mo post placement

Today is our 6mo post placement for Teddy's adoption. It hasn't been quite 6mo yet but close. What a 6mo its been. Sometimes it seems like it has just flown by other times its like time has been dragging. For me Teddy still seems like a visitor who just doesn't leave. The bonding for me has come VERY slowly this time, not like the girls. I find myself second guessing my parenting skills with him all the time. I have to say adopting a 5 yr old who comes with 5 yrs of habits and personality is a challenge. Teddy is also an extrovert living in a family of introverts (or at least quiet people) and he is not quiet. He talks constantly. Even when we put him to bed he will lay in his bed and talk, count or say his ABC's. It's hard for me to take him out because he will talk to anyone who even makes eye contact with him. He is starting to learn boundaries but needs lots of reminders about who we can talk to and who strangers are. Oh and is he a drama king! Just be present for a shot and you will see what I mean :0) A few things about Ted: He loves to eat, he loves to be out side, he likes to do things that take the minimum amount of effort:0), he is good at keeping his room clean (if you remind him), he has picked up English very quickly, he loves to help Ken and Max outdoors with cleaning, he is a great raker, he loves to talk. He is a very happy child who we love more and more every day.
