The Weather in NH

Well on Thur the girls were wearing their winter coats, Friday we had Spring and Saturday it was Summer. What a day! The girls love the warm weather and the first thing to come out is their pool. Our big pool isnt open yet (really it was just winter last week!) but Ollie would have been in in a second if it was. That girl loves water. Here are a couple of pictures of how they spent the last days of vacation. Back to school and work tomorrow. Can't wait for summer!

Package to orphanage

Thought Id add an adoption update. Not much to say just waiting but the package we sent to our agency was sent to Beckett today. We wont know when or if he gets it but I know other families have sent packages to this orphanage and their children have gotten them. Its so exciting to think he will know he has a family within the next two weeks!!! We think he has been waiting for a family since Nov 07 (at least that is the date on his referral photo). Next month we will send another package ourselves and then in June his Birthday package. We will have it delivered by a service. I cant wait for that because we should be able to get an updated picture of him and maybe measurements.

Museum of Science

On Wenesday we finally made our voyage to Boston to visit the Museum of Science. We were originally planning on doing it during the February vacation, but it never quite happened. Lil, Ollie, Max, and his girlfriend Megan enjoyed a couple of movies on the ride down and we arrived just after 10:30. We made our way through the first level over to the theater of electricity in time to watch the noon show. Lil found it "shocking"! We took in a bite at the cafeteria, and then made our way through the rest of the exibition hall. Of course the dinosaurs, mechanical playground, and monkey exhibit were favorites. We finished up the day with "Amazon" at the IMAX, a ride home through Boston traffic, and 14 hours after we left we had two tired little girls (and two tired teenagers, and two tired parents...)! More pictures can be seen on the web album.

LID

Well we got the email tonight from Linda at WACAP that our LID (logged in dossier) was yesterday 4-15-09. Its nice to have this step behind us but with the new process there are many more steps to complete!!! So now I know many of you are thinking "How much longer?" Well that would be wonderful to know. It could be anywhere up to 4 more months if everything took the longest time frame. I'm still hoping for summer travel and could use all your prayers and positive thoughts for this. When we started this adoption I had no doubt in my mind that we would travel this summer and being a teacher this would be ideal for me. Now it could be Fall and I just don't know what to do about work. I cant see bring a new child into the family and returning to work weeks after we come home but I really like my job and don't want to loose it. I just need to be patient and see how the time frame goes for families ahead of us. The one thing I know about adoption is that nothing is certain and it happens when it happens.

Sending our first package

I finally finished up the photo album to send in the package to Dong Dong today. WACAP will send a package that fits into a gallon size zip lock bag for us as soon as we are DTC. I thought a gallon size was bigger then it is but I still managed to squeeze a small blanket, stuffed monkey, matchbox car, photo album and a letter in. I hope they don't have a problem repacking it and keep something back. I've been imagining him sleeping at night snuggling with the blanket and holding onto the monkey. I wish we had a LID date but nothing yet. Linda at WACAP said they will call if we don't have one by the end of the week. Some days the waiting really sucks. Well, really it sucks everyday but some days like today are worse. Back to sending packages. After this one, we plan on sending one next month ourselves with more pictures and maybe a shirt. I'm also thinking of sending some things like toothbrushes and lolly pops for the other children and tea and candy for the care givers. Then we will have a service send a Birthday package in June. He turns 5 on June 19th. After that we will play it by ear on how long it will be till we travel. I don't want to get his hopes up we will be there soon but I don't want him to think we have forgotten him. Its so hard to put yourself in the mind of a 4 yr old you've never met.

Happy Easter!

I would like to have been able to say that it was a beautiful day here in NH for our Easter egg hunt known to us as "Easter Market Sweep" but it was freezing and windy here! The girls still had a wonderful time running around the yard collecting eggs and finding clues leading them to the big prize at the end. They enjoyed wearing their new light pink coats while eating their chocolate (uh oh). Max had three hockey games (yes hockey games on Easter) so we gave him one clue and sent him on his way. On Fri Ken texted Sannie clues to get her to her Easter Market Sweep package at her mail box. We couldnt leave her out, since she was the inventor of EMS!

Lilly's first skating show

Presenting Kung Fu Lilly!
Sunday afternoon marked the skating debut of Kung Fu "blades of death" Lilly. Her number was 7th and the whole show took only 50 minutes. She was quite worked up before the show, doing some warm up exercises, stretches, and a few poses. She had a great time and of course loved the pink carnations!
